Welcome to BridgetHales.Com!

The purpose of this site is to promote positive psychology, healthy living, happiness, and well-being.

I am passionate about inspiring others to find life balance through self-care and “living your very best life”. I truly believe that exercise and staying active (combined with adequate rest) is an excellent way to reduce stress, increase wellness, and create balance in people’s lives.

Music was my number one pursuit for the first 30 years of my life, but after dealing with some repetitive strain injury issues while living life as a classical musician, I decided to get my life “in balance” by commencing yoga and other forms of exercise, and I have never looked back!

I have experienced the discomfort of living with scoliosis and fibromyalgia, and this has given me a greater understanding regarding fitness and its capacity to help with pain management. Finding balance in our lives is a very individual thing and we all need different levels of workouts and daily activity, as well as good food and relaxation.

After working as a music and English teacher for just over eight years, I retrained as a psychologist, working for three years as a phone counsellor in various mental health roles in the areas of eating disorders, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, and weight management. I also worked as a provisional (intern) psychologist in private practice. My areas of interest are health and well-being, motivation and positive psychology, personality and social psychology, psychotherapy, Schema Therapy, Narrative Therapy, psychopathology, and health psychology.

My awards include a Post Graduate Diploma of Psychology, Post Graduate Diploma of Applied Psychology, Bachelor of Science (Psychology), and Bachelor of Music (Honours).

I also work as a lifestyle and travel writer, and I am the creator of Hot Tea Travel & Thyme, where topics include world travel, health and wellness, recipes, and living a balanced life.

My passions include yoga, walking and running, cooking, writing, and fitness.

My future goals include training as a yoga teacher and personal trainer.
